Basic Dress

We always need a a sleeveless or a 3/4 sleeve basic black dress such as a one piece dress or a top with a skirt that fits perfectly. It does not have lots of fabric, laces, or ruffles. It is made from a fine material like silk or satin for going out at night.

When you wear your basic black dress wear a fabulous hairstyle. Eye shadow should match your eyes, not your clothes and the lipstick color should match your skin tone. A soft red color lipstick is the best bet. For example pink color lipstick does not match golden tone skin.

Dark skin looks good with silver or gold toned accessories. If your skin tone is golden or dark with blonde or dark hair wear gold or black toned accessories. Shoes should be black or gold tones. If your skin tone is white with dark hair you can wear silver toned accessories or black toned accessories and black or silver toned shoes.

If you have a short neck your dress should have V neck or open low round neck and your hair should be an up do. Wear small earrings, a small corsage or pin, or a simple long necklace. If you have a fabulous long neck you may wear a choker.

If you want to wear a blazer it should be a 3/4 sleeve or 3-4 inches from your wrist sleeve so you can show off your nice bracelets. The color of the blazer should be black or grey perhaps with some sparkles. If your basic black dress is short (knee high) the blazer could pass the hip line. If you have a short neck the blazer should not have a collar or ruffles.

If the dress is long then the blazer should not pass the hip line. A bolero or a big scarf to put over your shoulders will look nice with a short or long dress.

The shoes should have the same shape of the neck of the dress (V with V). Before going out, look again in the mirror at your total self. Check the hair do if it is in proportion with the rest of you. Less is better. Look sophisticated and have fun.
